History of Morning Light Counseling

Morning Light Counseling opened its doors on July 31, 2009. Carrie had previously worked as a counselor for 17 years at LDS Family Services, providing spiritually-based counseling for a wide range of LDS clients. She then worked for nearly a year as Program Development Director for Beacon Family Mental Health, developing programs, establishing contacts, creating materials, developing Beacon’s website, etc. Meanwhile, she had also taught for 10 years (now 20+ years) at BYU Education Week and elsewhere, creating presentations and teaching classes on emotional healing and relationship enhancement.

With the counseling and administrative experience gained from these various experiences, Carrie decided to open this private practice, committed to helping individuals, couples, and families develop new skills to heal and thrive, even in the midst of significant challenges.

The Morning Light logo expresses the confidence that the sun always rises, even after the very darkest, most difficult night.  No matter how difficult things have been, no matter how challenging or heartbreaking a situation might have felt, there is always hope - there is always the promise of a radiant new day.
